SURVIVOR SA SEASON 9 COMES TO AMATHOLE

Today ASPIRE (Amathole District Municipality Development Agency) in partnership with ECDC joined Afrokaans Production Company in handing over of school equipment and school uniforms at Tatshana Junior-Senior Primary School in Prudhoe Location, under Ngqushwa Local Municipality.

As part of promoting Amathole District as a Film and Televsion destination of choice, ASPIRE and ECDC secured filming of Survivor SA Season 9 in Ngqushwa Local Municipality “Purely because of the natural beauty and the logistics around the community as well as the work that the community offered, the natural beauty based on the format we are doing as Survivor SA-9.” said Darren Lindsay – production manager.

The Prudhoe community and Fish River Resort ticked all the boxes for us with the support from East London, giving us the logistic support we needed as well as Port Alfred with various building material we handing over today, ” said the Afrokaans production manager Darren Lindsay.

The shooting of Survivor Season 9 at the Fish River Sun created jobs for 180 people were 30 of which were casuals employed from the community from the 6th of December 2021 until end of February 2022 and it’s in the region of just about over R1m of investment in the area. The production company also gave back raw materials they used for creating the show once they were finished shooting as a form of donation.

This is part of ongoing investment being made by ASPIRE, ADM and ECDC in attracting the filming of series and production in Amathole, following the filming of The Dam series in Adelaide at Raymond Mhlaba LM currently showcasing on Showmax.

Survivor South Africa Season 9 will be showcased in July 2022 on Mnet.
