Amathole Economic Development Agency t/a ASPIRE is happy to note significant progress in its Agriculture Learnership Programme, currently being implemented in partnership with AgriSETA and King Hintsa TVET College. Sixty young learners from across the Amathole District have successfully transitioned into the practical phase of the programme, marking a pivotal moment in their journey towards agricultural excellence.
This phase takes learners to real-world farming environments where they are actively engaged in crop cultivation, soil preparation, irrigation techniques, and sustainable land management practices. Under the guidance of experienced facilitators, learners are applying theoretical knowledge gained in earlier modules to hands-on tasks that mirror the demands of the agricultural sector.
The practical sessions are being conducted at designated agricultural sites, where learners are not only developing technical skills but also cultivating teamwork, discipline, and entrepreneurial thinking. The energy and commitment displayed by the participants reflect the transformative potential of this initiative.
ASPIRE CEO, Mr. Xabadiya, commended the learners’ progress, stating: The programme continues to align with ASPIRE’s strategic objectives, contributing to youth empowerment, food security, and the development of a resilient agricultural economy. The practical training is a key component in preparing learners to either enter the workforce or launch their own agri-business ventures.
ASPIRE remains committed to supporting these learners throughout the duration of the programme and looks forward to celebrating their achievements at the end of the programme.
