CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER (5-year contract) Total Cost to Company: R 1,270,976 per annum (based in East London)

ASPIRE, registered as the Amathole Economic Development Agency, is a state owned limited company established in September 2005 and is wholly owned by the Amathole District Municipality.

ASPIRE is currently looking for achievement-oriented individual with initiative and commitment to give substance to our vision.

Job Purpose:

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible to provide leadership in development and implementation of the agency’s integrated rural economic development strategy to ensure effective transformation of the Amathole District Municipality’s economy. This includes program conceptualization; program planning and fundraising; financial management and reporting; risk management and program implementations. Establishes and maintains high level and complex relationships with funders and stakeholders. The main key success factor is implementation of sustainable initiatives with positive impact to the rural livelihoods of the ADM communities. Typical duties and responsibilities for the Chief Operating Officer include:

  • Oversee operational policies and procedures
  • Oversee planning, maintenance and efficiency
  • Prepare operational reports and management reports
  • Drive sustainable growth and minimize losses
  • Head outreach and business relations
  • Improve the company’s operations, making them more efficient, cost-effective, and performing better.
