Municipal Support Initiatives

Through the pilots in the five small town areas of Alice, Butterworth, Dutywa, Hamburg and Stutterheim, Aspire is providing assistance and a demonstration effect to local municipalities to develop similar initiatives in other small towns within their municipal jurisdiction.

The conceptualization of regeneration ideas for Cathcart, Peddie, Qumrha, Keiskmmahoek and Bedford brings up 40% coverage of Aspire’s assistance in Amathole’s small town development program. This assistance and municipal support is spread out to all seven (excluding Buffalo City Municipality) local municipalities in the district: Amahlathi, Great Kei, Mbhashe, Mnquma, Nkonkobe, Ngqushwa and Nxuba.
